Zaigo builds AI software for real businesses.
Not demos. Not slide decks. Actual tools that people use to run parts of their company.
Our clients are owner-led, mid-market and PE-backed companies in the US: professional services firms, distributors, manufacturers, healthcare operators, finance teams. They have messy workflows, old systems, weird data, and very little patience for theory. We build the AI roadmap with them, then we build the whole thing.
We are based in New York, with engineering teams in Eastern Europe and Latin America, and we are growing fast.
We are looking for an Engagement Lead. A seasoned product manager who runs the client day to day, is deep on AI, and keeps the trains on track.
If you want to move tickets around a board, this probably is not the job. If you like being the person the client calls, and you care whether what we ship is actually good, it might be.
What the work looks like
You run several client accounts at once, often five or more, with a Principal above you and a senior developer team in Eastern Europe and Latin America building. You own the client relationship so the engineers can build. You work directly with the founders.
A day might start with a check-in with a client's COO on what is working and what is not. Then you get on a call with the engineers, turn what you heard into clear next steps, and push back on a feature nobody will use. In the afternoon you test the latest build yourself, catch what is off, and send the client a short, honest update.
You keep scope, dates and follow-ups tight. You see risks early and say so. And you bring ideas. You will often spot what the client should do next before they do.
Recent projects include:
- 01a document review tool that checks presentations against a firm's brand and compliance rules
- 02a benchmarking platform built from years of public company filings
- 03payroll and operations tools that clean messy data and produce files people can actually use
- 04internal AI agents that help teams move faster without giving the model dangerous autonomy
You do not need to write production code. You do need to understand how the pieces fit, well enough to have a real opinion.
Who we are looking for
- 01You have managed clients directly, at a consultancy, an agency, a software or AI services firm, or a startup where customers were your job.
- 02You keep the trains on track. Nothing slips because someone forgot to follow up.
- 03Years of real product management. You have owned a product, a roadmap and launches as a PM or product leader for years, think 5+. You know what users will actually adopt, and you say so when a feature is wrong.
- 04Clear, exec-ready communication. Short and calm, in writing and on a call with a CEO.
- 05You are deep on AI. You use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar every week, you have shipped AI features or built your own prototypes, and you can follow a conversation about Azure or AWS, Entra or Okta, Snowflake or Databricks without getting lost.
- 06You run several things at once and you like it.
Who should not apply
This is probably not the right role if you want a pure project management job: status reports, Gantt charts, and someone else making the calls.
It is also probably not right if you have never been the person a client calls when something breaks, if you have not spent years as a product manager, or if AI is something you read about more than you use.
We need someone who owns the client relationship and the delivery, not just the plan.
Pay and location
- 01We are profitable and bootstrapped, so pay is a strong base salary plus real performance bonuses tied to targets.
- 02Based in the US. NYC is a plus.
- 03This role requires authorization to work in the US. We're not able to sponsor visas.
- 04Full-time.
